RE: Cordless Drill

after having about 4 cordless drills from 12 to 18 volt have problems with chargers/batteries/etc. my neighbor convinced me to follow his example and just go back to a corded one for a powerful one. any cheap rechargeable will work for those times that a cordless one is needed.

RE: A CAMPGROUND WITHOUT HOLIDAY SPIRIT ?????

The cans were not for the park to give or keep I know of such a park on Vancouver Island with the same greed. they locked the recycle bin up and posted a sign that it was stealing to remove the cans. They said they used the funds for the park parties. What a poor party they gave as well. Do not recommend this park either.
and you feel that they were in the wrong because???

RE: F-350 Nav System

if you're trying to use it while you're driving (in motion), it won't let you...thank the lawyers for that-same reason it won't let a movie play on the front in dash screen unless you're in park...
Are you serious?? A built in NAV system can't be used while the vehicle is in motion in a commercial vehicle? I maybe could see it's buttons locked out while the vehicle is in motion but what's the value of it if it won't give you directions to your destination while your in motion. Please elaborate your comments??
the built ins won't allow you to search for various landmarks while moving. one advantage of the add on instead.

RE: Keurig Coffee Maker opinions?

With one of these you can use any brand coffee you desire. No coffee waste with the single K-Cup system whether your brand of coffee in the Keurig My K-Cup Reuseable Filter is used or you opt for one of the many brands of K-cup coffee. With a single server brewer there is no waste and you cannot beat the convenience. You can also get K-cup tea, hot chocolate or just a quick cup of hot water for instant soup, etc. Very easy to fire up the genset and brew a quick cup versus stopping at Dunkin doughnuts, etc.

will those fit any reasonably priced units?

RE: Big Camera Deals Is A Fraud

I second Kazoo Tom. I also have bought from B&H, Adorama, and now buy whatever I want from the Grand Rapids branch of Norman Camera. Prices are equal to or better than those NY stores. Walmart, etc also have competitive prices and there's no gray market warranty worries by not going with questionable NY places.
with B&H & focus you sometimes have the option of buying grey market if you want to save a couple of bucks. usually it isn't enough to bother however.

RE: Backup camera

they work just fine for the cost but do NOT leave the camera plugged in all the time, it will burn out. hook it to the back up light only.
they are NOT junk and anybody who claims that they are was foolish enough to think that they would be buying a $1,000 system for $59.00.

that is why when ordering camera equipment from New York I only would deal with B&H or Focus.

RE: Keurig Coffee Maker opinions?

years ago I bought a small two cup jobby using regular coffee and it dispensed into two insulated mugs. the only problem in the motorhome was that if the unit was off level, one of the two mugs would run over. :p

RE: Sleeping 5 in a Class A without bunks?

I'm torn. I really like a lot of things about DP vs gas. However, used deals on DPs with bunks are hard to find. That means we buy new, and potentially loose more money if we don't like the hobby, or buy used without bunks. Anyone have a Class A without bunks and 3 kids who won't share a bed? I figure I can put one on the foldout couch, one on the table, and one on the floor....
Thanks!
yep, and maybe after one spends some time on the floor they will decide that they can share a bed and not be spoiled.

RE: Be Carefull of Wal Mart $4 Prescriptions

Is it also true that CA wal-marts also have to charge "campers" the same rate as nearby campgrounds?
but it is a misleading thread title. there are other $4 plans that would also be affected in CA.

RE: A CAMPGROUND WITHOUT HOLIDAY SPIRIT ?????

As a retired Solid Waste Supervisor for a large city, let me explain some things.
Recyclables PLACED AT THE CURB in city recycling bins belong to whomever takes them UNLESS the bins are labeled as "Property of XXXXXXX", then it is theft if they are removed by other than an autherized agent of the container owner.
Solid waste placed within the right-of-way(at the curb or edge of the apparent traveled way) are fair game also. IF placed in a "haul-a-way container" ON PRIVATE PROPERTY it is the property of the OWNER OF THE PROPERTY until collected by the "agent".
I went through this many times in the 15 years I was in this position both with the theft of recyclables and the collection of "trash" for investigation by law enforcement authorities.
Lou
so if I have a snoopy/cheap neighbor who roots thru my trash every trash day morning, I can put a window fan or some such out by the curb on my property in my container and video tape it and if he takes it I can have him prosecuted for theft?
I think I would ask for a jury trial myself. :p

Just curious, for a spare battery for short emergency use only, how far would one of those small riding lawn mower batteries or similar run one? any distance at all?

RE: drinking water

Drink any campground water at your own peril. Take a survey around the park and see how many of your neighbors have a flush system connected to their sewer system. I don't believe in the "safety factor" of these systems. One leaking valve and a drop in water pressure equals contaminated water. Just my opinion, but my healthis worth $.35 bottled water from Walmart. Refill your jugs and drink with confidence.
lets see my neighbor ten units down has a slight drop in pressure, that piece of "stuff" is going to immediately dart 50 ft up his hose, thru the 150 ft of piping in the campground, and run over to my hose inlet?
I don't think so. Paranoia IMHO.

RE: To purchase a RV lot in a park... or not!

Traverse Bay RV Resort seems really nice, but why would you want to own a lot that's only available May 1st to October 31st?
In an ideal world we'd own more than one lot. Maybe even 3 -- west coast, east cost and up north. Traverse Bay could be a summer destination. We'd travel for several months and end up at the ownership parks for holidays or if we decided to take a break one season just plop down.
But that is an ideal world. What we decide to do is a long ways down the road.
I look at this post as just a way to share ideas.
Lucy
I always sort of thought two lots would be nice. one North, one South and then just travel between them.

RE: Reusing the pink stuff.

If I were going to reuse AF, I would hook my compressor to the fresh water inlet, pressurize to 30 lbs and collect the AF in a container by opening each faucet. No need to use the black/gray tanks at all.
but if one was really cheap he/she would want to reclaim that which was put in traps and toilet. :p
